impossible to categorise, as individual as Nico's harmonium era or post-debut Björk, where percussive use of stringed instruments like the dulcimer added to drone-like organ, and a vocal that stretches from soprano hymn-like chorale to harsh wails & screams, moving from infant to animal. Individual, idiosyncratic, often childlike & playful, & utterly compelling in the way it creates its own sonic world, of which one may merely enter & behold. Surrender rather than comprehend.
